I was stationed in Downtown Los Angeles when I got dispatched by Elizabeth, my coworker from the dispatch office. She needed me to tow a truck that just stalled in the middle of Alameda St in Downtown Los Angeles. Because of all of the traffic that travels through Downtown LA during rush hour, it is definitely a scary place to be at 5:30pm in the afternoon, but these things happen. Actually, they happen quite often. The Client’s name was Ceasar and he was driving an econoline van around his regular route, dropping off soda drinks when his truck stalled on him.
When I arrived at the location his truck wouldn’t start, just as he had described on the phone. I first tried to jump start his engine to make sure that wasn’t the problem.That didn’t work so I hooked up his van to my flatbed tow truck carefully and towed him 15 miles away to his company’s mechanic. I couldn’t help him finish the rest of his route but at least I got the client back to his company so that he can get into another van to finish his rounds.
